October Ponderings
Expect a Miracle

We have been focusing on Miracles for 2024. My time in Japan was filled with miracles that are still in the process of manifesting. One of the first happenings was learning about "Itadakimasu". It is a Thank You to be said before a meal. You give gratitude to the food, the server, the cook, the farmer, the building, the table, the chairs ....basically to everything and everyone that allows you to share food and time with another or by yourself.

Since then, I have been saying Itadakimasu for everything and everyone that comes into my life on a daily basis and have experienced such a newfound respect for the life of all beings/things. Acknowledging that the life force energy that exists in me exists in all beings/things...whether I can recognized it as such or not...has ignited a deeper gratitude and compassion within my own being. Witnessing miracles has become part of my daily routine.

Reiki Associates has two shares per month. The first Reiki Share is on October 15th from 7pm to 9pm hosted by Regan Bechamp and Cindy McPherson. The second Reiki Share is on October 20th from 1pm to 3pm hosted by Denise Carpenter.

A Reiki Share is an opportunity to experience and practice Reiki.
|
It is open to everyone with Reiki training as well as those who are curious. The share begins with a short meditation. This is followed with group treatments. A group treatment is defined as one person receiving Reiki simultaneously from one or more practitioners. The group rotates through all those present at the table. A typical share lasts for approximately two hours.

A Dream come True
|
|
Reiki has been a huge part of my life and continues to be so. My Reiki journey started in 1996 and at that time I dreamed of having a class with a Japanese teacher in Japan and of climbing Mount Kurama.
|
Well, my dream started to manifest in June of 2023 when Sensei Inamoto came to Toronto from Japan to teach Komyo ReikiDo. I attended the class and this year was invited to finish my training in July. I am now a Shihan in this lineage and will begin teaching Komyo ReikiDo soon. This will be in addition to the traditional Western Reiki that I currently teach.

Day 5 of the class consisted of climbing Mount Kurama!! I was able to be in the place where Reiki was gifted to Sensei Usui all those years ago!!!!!!! The energy of the mountain was phenomenal!! The experience of climbing the mountain is difficult to put into words, but profound comes close. The photo to the right is the beginning of the climb. The first half of the climb is a well groomed switch back trail...the second half of the climb is not. But, I managed in close to 40 degree weather.
