Change is the only constant 🙂
Posted by Denise on October 25, 2016

If you have been following my web site, you will notice that once again it has gone astray!!  This time it merely disappeared instead of morphing into a porn site…big improvement!!  My last blog was dated January 2016, all data, all blogs are now in cyber space from that date on to this one…Yikes!! Now let’s add that I combined my two businesses into one.  Then let’s add that I moved my home in August…another story laced with plans gone array.  Now let’s add changes with my family… AND… I celebrated my 60th birthday.   I think the Universe is practicing me to be the calm in the middle of the storm.  I have to admit that all the change  has driven me to regular meditation or at least quiet time, regular exercise and a consciousness about what I am putting in my body.  There is an increasing awareness in how much rest I give myself as well as, how and who I spend my energy with.  There is an ever increasing awareness in the power of my thoughts…good vs bad, easy vs hard, not enough time vs all in its own time…and, how much of my energy is used for story telling.  There is a growing need to take responsibility for how I allow my thought energy to manifest.   There is also a very direct result of manifestation when I truly immerse myself in the flow and ride the wave instead of trying to manipulate it.  There has been much change, but, there has also been a much more profound way of life growing within and around me.   Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

Reiki in the Elevator
Posted by Louise Pritchard on October 14, 2016

woman in elevator

At one time in my career, I had a complicated job which involved a great deal of travel and interfacing with several agencies and ministries. When people would ask my what I did I fumbled around for an understandable explanation.  To avoid that embarrassment, My supervisor at the time encouraged me to have my elevator speech at the ready. An elevator speech is a clear, brief message or “commercial” about you. It communicates who you are, what you’re looking for and how you can benefit a company or organization. It’s typically about 30 seconds, the time it takes people to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator.

It was a great exercise which really helped me put together all the salient points about my position.

I took the elevator speech idea to heart when I started talking to people about Reiki. I realized that there are many people who do not have the faintest idea about Reiki and how it can benefit them. I created an elevator speech about the basic concepts of Reiki: history, healing, and application. Then a few months ago, I had a perfect opportunity to practise my speech in earnest.

I was helping a friend at her Reiki booth at a Seniors’ Expo. My friend was offering free fifteen minute Reiki treatments to people and I was the “front man”.  As the seniors walked past the booth I would talk to them and try to engage them in a conversation about Reiki and then offer them the opportunity of a free treatment. Some people were already aware of Reiki and readily accepted the offer; some really were not interested in what I had to say; and some became intrigued, listened to my elevator speech which I supplemented with illustrations and examples and then agreed to a treatment. (It was a wonderful experience and I kept my friend very busy.)

I recall as I spoke to one gentleman of the later persuasion, I started to listen to myself and wondered how strange my spiel must sound to the uninitiated. In spite of his attentiveness, I started to laugh at the strangeness of the situation. I remarked that maybe it seemed a bit “out there”, but trust me, Reiki really does work. He laughed in response and said, “Miss, you are so sincere in your explanation, how can I not give it a try!

And that is the key to a good elevator speech – enthusiasm and sincerity.

So get your Reiki speech ready and get out there and spread the word. People want to know about you and your practice. Top floor, please!

More of my Mom’s passing…I have worked in palliative care for many years and have had the opportunity to treat a person’s body once they has left it.  Always, and I mean always, the gifting I have from the person who has passed, is their allowing me to witness them stepping into the “light”.  The “light” always presents itself to me like a huge subway tunnel that is beaming the most beautiful, welcoming white light.  At my Mom’s funeral, I had about half an hour of uninterrupted time before the others arrived… thanks to the chauffeuring capacity of a good friend.  As I treated her body, an energy appeared on the right, above us.  It was changing colour from light green to light blue to light pink…very loving, very gentle, very welcoming.   A bubble came out of the energy, floated to my Mom’s chest and rested on her heart chakra.  It hovered there and gathered up many energies from her body. (I have never witnessed this before).   It was a beautiful, calming sight.  The bubble then returned to the original energy and dissipated.  If anyone has an explanation, please contact me

Just as Sensei Usui was wise to advise us not to anger, he was equally wise in telling us not to worry.
Worrying is basically a need to control events that are really beyond our control; feeling or being overly concerned about a situation or problem.  Constant worry and anxiety can have mental and physical consequences.
Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress.  In fact, a bit of worrying about a test or job interview might motivate you to be more prepared for either situation. But excessive worry or anxiety can lead to panic attacks or a debilitating anxiety disorder. These may lead to unhealthy lifestyle habits such as drinking, smoking, or eating disorders.  If excessive worrying and high anxiety are left untreated they lead to depression and even suicidal thoughts.
Chronic worry can release stress hormones such as cortisol.  These hormones can trigger physical reactions such as headaches, digestive disorders, fatigue and coronary issues.
Although Sensei Usui advised us not to worry, did he offer any ways to alleviate it?  Indeed, Reiki itself is an antidote to worry.  Worry can cause an imbalance in the body and Reiki certainly helps to re-establish harmony of mind, body and spirit. It can help us to relax and encourages us to meditate, both of which are recommended stress relievers.
So, just for today, do not worry.  Practice self –treatment, meditate on the Reiki Principles and thank Sensei Usui for his wisdom.

Many people have asked how it is that I can tell when channeling the Council as opposed to using my intuition…..  When I use my own voice/energy/intuition, I can feel the energy move from my abdomen up through my torso, through my throat and out my mouth.  It is a very distinct feeling…you can “feel” the air move through you.  When the Council is using my body as a voice, the energy comes through the back of my head, very close to the top of my neck and out my mouth.  It comes through me but is not a part of me, I can’t manipulate it.  When channeling, I go into Witness Self and just observe.  My body seems to grow bigger than it is in this dimension and then it is as if it disappears….there is just voice.   There is no effort on my part to think or deliver dialog.

As the time was nearing for the conference I was really struggling with the idea of channeling the Council.  I was very concerned that I would try to alter the message that was to be given.  I feared making a fool of myself, I feared being different, I feared that the Council would not show up.  A class with my Spiritual Advisor really helped me to see that trusting the Council was my only option.  He helped me practice going into and out of the Council energy.  He explained that they were an energy frequency that could be accessed at will.  Then we spoke of the fear that my ego would/could try to help out.  He explained that my ego and the Council were not in competition with each other, but could co-exist with mutual respect and service.  We spent some time mediating on that concept and just as he said, I could sense my ego relax and then begin to enjoy spending time with the Council.

Finally, the message from the Council is ALWAYS loving, empowering, enlightening….all about the thrive energy and joy.  My ego is more practical in a daily sense…how to…what to…when to…why to…   Both are magnificent, both are necessary!!

Thank you to all who participated with our Reiki Conference – Enriching Me and My Reiki Community on May 1st.  And Thank you to all who did not attend in person, but held space for love and most beneficial outcomes for those in attendance.

OMG, OMG, OMG…What a day we had!!  My Council did indeed speak at the conference and orchestrated the group treatment at the end of the day.  As promised, those attending did receive benefits and if they did not yet know the Council personally, they were introduced and will come to know Them….as their energy systems permit.  Everyone present received an attunement…also as promised in their opening remarks.  Each attendee was asked to connect with Them.  Each attendee was also asked to allow their personal frequency to expand, to become inclusive of all frequencies present and to invite integration for growth.  In the days that followed, I have to admit that I have been going through an energetic cleanse…sore stomach, emotional outbreaks…but truly expanded energetically.  I am now “feeling” more connected to the All That Is and “seeing” or “sensing” on a much deeper level.   Truly, an attunement was gifted!!  I need to mention that the feedback of other attendees speaks to many attunements in progress!!

Thank you to My Council!! I am so blessed to be stepping forward with this work!!

As our Reiki Conference – Enriching Me and My Reiki Community approaches, my “Council” moves in and out of my energy system.  My Council is a group of 12 enlightened beings who have been instrumental in the advancements to my treatments and the results for the clients.  They are the voice and organization behind this year’s conference.  The Council has decided that they would like to be heard at the conference and have asked if I am ready to channel them in public…..YIKES…breath….yes I am.  Their energy is so loving, nurturing, benevolent, kind, empowering, that it is truly an honour for me to work with them.  They have been letting their presence be known over the last few days, with a final clearing of my throat during my reiki treatment today.  The feeling of peace is pervasive.  Everyone attending will receive benefits and will come to know the Council personally…as their energy systems permit.  Please hold the space of love and most beneficial outcomes for us on Sunday.

21 Day Sendings…

The continuous 20 minute daily sendings have proved quite helpful for the clients.  Whether the sending is 3 days, 7 days, 21 days or longer, the result is the same.  There seems to be a profound connection/integration/shifting on behalf of the receiver with Source, more so than a regular sending or treatment.  The woman who suggested the 21 day sending has continued with her treatments and decided to keep them on a regular bases…no break in between.  Her comments:

“The daily remote sending have been amazing. I can’t even explain in words. The biggest changes have been in my relationships and health. The  changes have been extraordinary.  My relationship to my husband and kids have drastically changed in the past 7 months in ways I can’t even explain. Past relationships and even my relationship to myself has  changed.  My constant irritability has been slipping away and I am more self aware when I start to feel that way.  The constant heaviness has fallen away to more happiness and joy.  My health has gone from being sick all winter every winter to no flu or colds in the past 3 months. Even more interesting is no one in the family has been sick in the past 3 months other than sniffles.  I can’t wait to see where we go from here!”

Thanks NT for introducing this format of treatment…it has been such a beautiful learning experience!!

It feels like such an effort, you may not think your small business needs one.  However, if you look at it bit by bit, the process can be broken down into manageable tasks.  Not only does your business plan help you chart where you’d like to take your practice, more importantly, it helps you decide if the direction you’ve chosen has been effective.

We will explore what a business plan can do for you.  We will discuss the different sections of a solid business plan and how to research and tailor each of the sections to suit the needs of your business.

The saying goes that “when your life is in chaos, know that the hand of the Divine is present”.  Well, the Divine has been so very present in my life over the last month.  My Mom, (who has been the catalyst for a few blogs) had a massive stroke and passed away two weeks later in early November.  She suffered from mental illness all of my life and maybe all of her own, I am not sure.  The result was a very strained relationship for us.  I live over 400 kms from her.

Her children received “the” call on the day following her massive stoke that she may not live….but, she found the strength to continue for two more weeks.  All of her children, except one (due to his travel distance) were able to visit her while she was still alive.  My sister and I had the most lovely day with her, giving her Reiki treatments, massaging her tired body, feeding her, finding ways to communicate.  She had trouble accepting our gifts at the beginning, but after about 10 minutes totally relaxed into the process….then thoroughly enjoyed herself….so much so that the woman in the bed beside her asked for a treatment when my Mom was resting.  It was such a healing for my sister and me.  We were able to see her just as she was and love her from that place.  Two weeks later, after her funeral, my older brother told us that she was a different person from that time on…he called her “Our New Mom”.  So much healing happened that day of sharing with her….Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Age of Enlightenment.  It has been fascinating to witness the growth in social consciousness of the idea that we are actually responsible for this planet and each other.  The whispers of the young people to step into their power, the voices of celebrities announcing their passion for change, the empowered women who now speak about the absurdity of sending children to war, bombing homes, killing families, all give direction to that change.  Expectations for our leaders are shifting.  I can hear the echoes of the teaching that We are all One moving into everyday life.  What an exciting time we live in.  Remember that all that happens outside of our energy field is a direct reflection of our own dissonance.  As we find the way to work on our own energy systems, either through Reiki or any other modality…we can indeed engage with the Age of Enlightenment.  As we can find a way bring ourselves back to our own original blueprint and step into harmony with self and others, we help peace evolve on this planet.

What a month this has been!!!  So much change, so much clearing of the past, of old paradigms, of old habits, of my old self.  It feels like I have been living within the wind stream of a tornado.   I think my feet are back on the ground, the feeling of chaos has diminished and I am actually able to catch up with work, with family and friends.

My practice will change slightly.   I would like to work on my ability for group Reiki treatments.  It has been suggested that the Community Reiki Night could accommodate that quite nicely.  To that end, beginning November 3rd, the format of the one hour gathering will be that of a group treatment.  All are invited to attend….no prior experience with Reiki is necessary.  We will begin at 7pm and finish by 8pm.  There is no charge for the treatment, the energy exchange will be your time for my opportunity to practice.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 613-264-8165, text 613-913-2803 or e-mail

These past few weeks have been so intense, so deep, and so awesome.  Information in the form of books, movies, conversations, energy downloads have been filling my time and space.  All of the information is relaying the same message….we are in the Age of Enlightenment.  We are just at the beginning of this incredible stage of our history.  Validation grows in support of us becoming more aware and able to navigate what it means to be energy beings having a physical experience.  As we practice moving the frequencies of our physical body, emotional body and spiritual body in a conscious way, we step towards enlightenment.  We are growing in capacity to choose the frequency of energy we wish to experience.  This in turn sets the stage of how we experience our life.   The teaching is, as we become more conscious of our frequency and the impact we have on others, the more we will choose a “win-win” outcome.   Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you.

My clients have been asking for new ways to receive Reiki treatments due to time restraints, traffic issues or the impossibilities of being in the same place at the same time.  We have created a different format that I would like to share with you.  Regular clinic treatments are one hour in length.  The new treatment uses the same time frame with the same cost but with a change in the format.  Instead of the regular treatment format (client on massage table with hands on from practitioner), this format combines the regular format with that of a sending.  The client is asked to find a quiet place for one hour in their current surroundings.  Up to the first 30 minutes is a phone conversation used to a establish personal and energetic connection.  The remaining minutes are a full body sending for the client while the client rests.  This format has proven to be as effective as a hands on treatment and offers options for scheduling and available space.

I have been taking Richard Lewis’ class Presence and The Yoga of Mind Thursday evenings at The Lotus Wings Building.  He is a master teacher, weaving philosophy with spiritual teachings with ceremony.  I am beginning to wonder if there is any difference between them.  His reading from Thich Nhat Hanh’s work about emptiness and self-substance has had profound impact on my conscious mind.  Hopefully I can paraphrase the reading….Emptiness is when you observe something or someone and really see all of it.  The example used was that of a cell phone.  When you look at a cell phone you see the “all”  used to make the phone, the earth materials, the machines, the many people involved in the development, production, marketing, selling of the phone and so on.  You begin to recognize all the “pieces” the phone represents.  Self-Substance refers to just seeing the phone as an instrument of communication, without awareness of what or who was involved in the process of you having it in your hand.  Both states of awareness are necessary, one not more important than the other.  However, since that class, I cannot look at something or someone with “seeing” the “all” involved in their being.  It has been as most humbling experience.

I apologize for my tardiness with writing the blog.  The Universe has given me a HUGE opportunity to do some deep emotional healing and growth.  To say that the past two months have been disruptive is being a minimalist….which I am.  2014 was a year of unimagined change that brought about a great shift in my life.  2015 seems to be the year for working through the deep emotional connection to the shift.  The past two months have been a physical roller coaster of digestive pain, dysfunction and distress.  My emotional body is indeed healing from 2014 and insisting that the healing be on all levels….emotional, physical and spiritual.  The physical body is now diagnosed and able to be controlled.  The emotional body is extremely stimulated and with the help of Reiki, coming into balance.  The spiritual body has soared!!  My connection to the Reiki Energy has deepened.  The treatments and classes have been awesome!!  My Reiki Master and my Spiritual Teacher have been instrumental with their guidance.  I must be coming through the upheaval because I can finally say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You……

More unfoldings from our Reiki Conference….Enriching Me and My Reiki Community.  As the conference was being organized, I kept in contact with my Reiki Master…keeping her up to date with who was coming, how it was growing, the energy evolution of the event and other such vibrations.  As we discussed the Heart Mandala Meditation that would close the conference, she and a couple of other friends became quite interested.  I needed to practice leading the meditation before the conference and they were open to being practice people.  We met on a Thursday evening, I practiced the wording for the mediation and also practiced bringing the Heart Mandala vibration to the group and maintaining its vibration for 30 minutes.  The group followed the directions given, meditated for the 30 minutes and then we shared our experiences.  Everyone in the group was able to reach their own individual Heart Mandala and each had a direct experience with the mandala.  My Reiki Master had a profound experience and was able to access 12 more mandalas during the meditation as well as being able to discuss their meaning and messages.  YIKES!!!  She has since crafted a treatment/meditation to include the 13 mandalas and will present the meditation at the July 21st Reiki Share in Perth.  If you are able, please attend.  The conscious introduction to these energies is awesome!!!!!

Enriching Me and My Reiki Community Conference on May 3rd

What an experience!  We were immersed in such loving, compassionate energy for the entire day.  The venue was perfect…a rustic, rural setting with fantastic food….all made on the premises, served with care and attention to detail.  The speakers were so well prepared!  Myriam’s experience brought grace to her talk.  The streamed speakers decided they would like to hear each other’s presentation, so altered their one hour presentation to half an hour and delivered flawlessly.  Elaine with her animals and vet talk, Tristan with his crystals and meditations, Diane with her Angels and Stephanie with her children.  The talks came to a close as Kathy Glover Scott spoke about her vast experience with PTSD.  All were eloquent, to the point, knowledgeable and so capable!!  The day flowed from speaker to speaker, each building on the last and opening the door for the next….fabulous!!!  The day came to a end with the Group Reiki Treatment.  Ascended Masters worked through me to create the most magnificent Heart Mandala… further building our Reiki Community.  It was a very humbling experience to be consciously present to and channel such energy.   Finally, THANK YOU to Brenda Pichette, my co-host, for being so willing, so capable and so accepting!!

My story is becoming so rich …..  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

The day is almost here.  I can feel the energy building as the preparations come to an end and the guides begin to arrive.  Brenda and I visited Strathmere today for a final run through of the day’s events at the venue.  The facility has a most welcoming energy…rustic, home made food, our building is full of windows…the energy of spring and new beginnings bursts from the land.  Jenny, our contact person at Strathmere, was totally engaged with our event, most knowledgeable and helpful.  The final details were worked through and a couple of lovely surprises were gifted to us.  Thank you Jenny.  Our speakers are preparing their presentations, letting us know of their needs for their talk.  I am practicing the group Heart Mandala treatment with my students, at my Reiki Share and tonight with a group of willing friends.  Brenda is checking and double checking the technical details, the room layouts, the timing of events …….

Continuing with the Reiki Principles… The Fourth Principle… Just for Today, I will earn my living honestly.  With this principle we are asked to become aware of how we invest our time and energy both with others and within ourselves.  With others, we are asked to become conscious of our level honesty with time, words, intentions, promises, offers.  If you are contracted to work an eight hour day…do you?   Or, do you work six?  Or, do you work ten?  Being contracted to work eight hours means just that, work eight.  Are you able to communicate honestly if you need more time to finish the contract?  What if the extra time is just expected from you without renegotiating the original contract?  What happens if you do not need  the full eight hours?  Would you communicate that?  How would you present it?  Working with this principle becomes a process of steeping yourself in open communication….no judgments, no agenda….looking for the win/win with the exchange.

Being honest with ourselves takes us on an exploration about how we spend our time, what are our true intentions, do we make promises we cannot keep, do we say words we don’t mean just because others want to hear them?  Why do we do and say what we do and say?  Are we content with ourselves, are we looking for change?   How honest can we be with ourselves?  If we are working through an issue, can we allow ourselves to be wrong, to have failed, to be heading in the wrong direction without recrimination?  Can we allow ourselves to just change directions, motivations, ideas, desires to find that place of honesty within?

Spend some time with this principle.  It can be difficult, but so worthwhile…..the Reiki energy will guide you.

Enriching Me and My Reiki Community Fees.. …we have been asked the question of the how we set the fee for the Reiki Conference..  The response to the fee has varied from…. too expensive…. to….what a fair fee price…. and everything in between.  Setting the fee was a very difficult task in the beginning, then it became very clear as Brenda and I discussed the value of the day.  The conference is spirit lead; Brenda and I are the facilitators.  The venue, the speakers, even the flow of the agenda has been downloaded and reinforced if we try to deviate from the original intention.  The idea of moving perception of Reiki from a fringe therapy with questionable status into a more professional status was one of the drivers.   The speakers are all educated professionals in their fields as well as being Reiki Masters.  The teachings of these women will be priceless.   The facility is top rated and brings with it an inspiring earth friendly environment, complete with an organic lunch and snacks.  The group treatment at the end of the day will help everyone, with or without Reiki training; to assimilate the information they gleaned, align themselves to their highest good and step back into their lives renewed.   The empowerment for the Reiki Community to stand together for a day to celebrate and embrace the energy is unmeasurable.  The fee for this amazing day works as a signal to ourselves and others that our worth and work has professional value and contributions.

With gratitude we welcome you to share this amazing day…

The Universe has again helped me work through a prior decision.  I had made the decision to teach only Master Practitioner and Master Teacher Levels for the next year to really find a strong flow of connection for the students.  As the Reiki energy would have it, the next five Master Practitioner students and the next two Master Teacher students were so evolved that the path became very clear, very quickly.  THANK YOU to the Reiki energy and the students!!  The next surprising step was that Level I and II students began to make contact about taking their classes.  It became quite evident that I was indeed to resume teaching Level I and II Reiki.  During the process of changing my prior decision, a sense of fulfillment around the teaching returned and scheduled classes are now posted on the event page.  I would like to thank and honour the Reiki energy and each person who participated in this process for their patience and kindness.  I am continually in awe of how connected we truly are.

Enriching Me and My Reiki Community Conference.  I have been asked to write about the experience of the group treatment that will take place at the end of the conference on May 3rd.  The last blog regarding the conference spoke of my gratitude to be the channel for these experiences.  It is truly an honour to hold space and energy for the group.  It brings with it the feeling of being bigger than my physical body and absolutely filled with love, peace and compassion.  The effects of the treatment can be felt for days and my personal being vibration ALWAYS moves to a new level and remains there.

Now, what I see during the group treatment…..we begin with a group meditation to bring as many people to same vibration  as possible.  As this energy begins to move and integrate itself within the group, each person starts to look like an energy field.  It is egg shaped, begins above the head (center above) and ends below the feet (center below).  The person’s energy pathways look a bit like laser beams and they connect with each other forming a pattern.  Each pattern or person is a different configuration and the pathways are often different colours.  Sometimes there are colours that I have never seen before.  As the treatment progresses, I connect each person to the next by touching their shoulders.  The effect looks like building an energy grid.  The group grid contains each of the participants with their individual patterns in their egg shape and also it’s own distinct pattern that integrates the individuals with its own.  It truly looks like coloured laser beams forming a mandella.  It is an exquisite, breath taking experience. At this point in the treatment each energy system or individual can access its own needs from the the mandella.  The results are incredible, with each person having their own individual experience within the group mandella.  The mandella will be in effect as long as it is needed and then begins to dissipate as the group treatment comes to an end.   Hope you can join us.

Continuing with the Reiki Principles… The Third Principle… Just for Today, I will live in Gratitude, I will Honour Myself, My Parents, My Elders and My Teachers.  With this principle, we move our experience from contemplative … anger and worry … to channeled….active energy movement.  We are asked to channel the energy of Gratitude and Honour in every situation we can muster.  The teaching is about the principle “like attracts like”, or using other words, the Energy of Engagement.  If we can become consciously aware of how we are engaged by others and equally, how we respond or engage others, then our experiences or energy exchanges can evolve into win/win scenarios.  During an energy exchange, either verbal or physical, before you respond, take the time to consciously  feel where you receive the energy in your body… which chakra? how does it make you feel? what is your knee jerk reaction to it?  Then consciously decide/choose to respond from your heart chakra, regardless of which chakra received the energy.  Initially,  the exercise will slow down the exchange between you, but, with practice you will become very competent.  If you have difficulty accessing the heart chakra, focus your attention there and ask it to speak for you.  Actively, daily, consistently, use this principle as the major step in becoming responsible for yourself-your thoughts, conversations, reactions, habits and overall being.

Pondering……  When Brenda chose the date for our Reiki Conference, Enriching Me and My Reiki Community, neither of us knew the following two details.  First, there will be a Reiki Conference in Toronto on May 2nd, the day before our conference, May 3rd.  My pondering mind starts to wander down the path of synchronicity.  Why would that date be the chosen one?   Brenda just knew the date and chose for very practical reasons.   Then the questions of  … Why is the conference coming together so easily? And …How could we possibly put together such a strong roster of speakers?  It has felt Divine lead from the beginning.  Now my wandering mind is pondering the significance of the two conferences back to back.  A day filled with Reiki intention and teaching is going to be a powerful day.  What will be the effect of two?

The second detail is that May 3rd is the first day of Hospice Palliative Care Week.  We did not know this until Myriam, our speaker for Reiki and Hospice Palliative Care, brought it to our attention.  But, we did intuit that she definitely needed to be the speaker for Hospice Palliative and set the tone for the conference.

Many more fascinating, engaging, magical, Divine experiences have unfolded as we have stepped forward with this work.  What a blessing to undertake.

Hope to meet you at the conference….Enriching Me and My Reiki Community…check us out on Facebook.

What an experience this has been!!!  Brenda Pichette asked me in January if I would be interested in co-hosting a Reiki Conference with her.  It has been an idea of mine for quite some time, but I do not have the necessary administration skills.  Brenda does.  I said yes.  Immediately the ideas for the conference began to form….the date for the conference, how to set up the day, where to host the event, what the registration fee should be, what companies to use for support….all rather easy.  We were set up and published on Snap Up Tickets within a two hour meeting.  Then, the speaker roster started to form.  We received the names of the speakers and what their specific presentations should be.  When we met with the speakers in person, I watched them receive something akin to an attunement around the conference and their contributions.  It was totally awesome!!  Some speakers had to be interviewed over the phone.  The result was the same, they would stop mid sentence and then know what their presentation would be.  Again, totally awesome!!  I have to admit that this has been a very exciting experience for me.  The key has been to stay open to receiving information about the conference, not letting ego have its say, and following the given information to the best of our ability.  It feels so Divine inspired and lead.  Life is truly amazing!!

As we continue the journey of 2015, let’s explore the next class of Reiki 101:  Return to the Basics….Principle 2.

It all begins with the Reiki Principles:

Just for today, do not anger. (blog 101)
Just for today, do not worry. (blog 104)
Just for today, I will live in gratitude. I will honour myself, my parents, my teachers and my elders.
Just for today, I will earn my living honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

These are such profound concepts.  How was your month of examining your anger and the anger of those connected to you?  Where you able to be in witness self with your anger?  Where you able to allow another to express themselves without taking their expression personally?

Today we will consider Principle 2:  Just for today, do not worry.  Worry keeps us mired in the future…what if…if only I could…if only they could…  Our goal is to keep our energy in the present moment.  Worry has us engaged in the future, where events have not yet happened.  My most compelling lesson with worry came through my daughter.  She had the opportunity to cycle across Canada with classmates from her school.  Their objective was to raise awareness for chiropractic, nutrition, exercise and overall healthy lifestyles.   As her Mom, I could only see the danger.  Being her Mom, I encouraged her to have the experience.  Two weeks into the adventure, I lay away yet again, envisioning all the disasters that could befall her.  Reiki started flowing and the following words came into my head.  The words said, “Dear One, think of what you are sending her, your thoughts carry energy and intention, is that what you want for her?”  Yikes….the answer was no.  I wanted her to have a safe, self empowering adventure.  Next, a picture of wrapping her from head to toe in white ribbon came to mind with the words “try this and trust”.  I did try wrapping her in Reiki and White Ribbon, and slowly found a way to retrain my mind to trust her flow.  I could then sleep.  With practice, I could sleep peacefully.   With more practice, I started to wrap everything and everyone in Reiki and White Ribbons and gave up worrying.  What a relief!!

Grace, Reiki and the Fifth Chakra… we continue to work through Carolyn Myss’ book “Invisible Acts of Power-Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life”.  This chakra speaks of our intentions.  “The Sanskrit name for the fifth chakra means purified and refers to the spiritual path of becoming conscious of why we do what we do” (page 174).   This is also the chakra of “right speech”, that is making the decision to weigh every thought and word, then speak honestly but with good judgment.  The objective of our words becomes not to harm, but to “transmit a great strength of spirit and conviction….Surrender Personal Will to Divine Will” (page 175).  This act of service takes courage.  Being honest with ourselves and others can prove to be most difficult.  The events of this past year have brought this lesson to a place of true understanding for me.  Asking the Reiki energy to flow through my throat chakra when speaking has allowed much growth and healing.  The intention to deliver the words does not come from a desire or need to manipulate or harm, only to bring clarity and healing.  I found, if the words were too strong, they could not be spoken….If they were too soft, they could not be spoken.  I would have to wait and  reconsider them.  Then, I remembered to ask Reiki for clear intention with the delivery.  This resulted with words of grace flowing with the intention for clarity and healing.  It was extremely empowering.  It felt like a miracle taking place in my throat and through my mouth.  I was being consciously responsible for my words and the energy they carried.   True kindness and compassion were present and reflected.  The work became and remains making this form of conscious communication my norm.  I am blessed by Reiki and Grace.

Grace, Reiki and the Fourth Chakra…I found myself very reluctant to write this blog….. We will continue our work through Carolyn Myss’ book “Invisible Acts of Power-Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life”.  December was the last blog about this book and it featured the Third Chakra.  My Fourth Chakra, the Heart Chakra was given a thorough wrenching in 2014.  According to the book (page 144) heart intuition or love, is a greater force than survival intuition or the combined power of your first three chakras.  The work of the Fourth Chakra is to bring you into the depths of your feelings.  So we ask the question… What does the energy of love, or heart intuition feel like?  The outcome from the energy of love is healing….always and in all ways.  Its profound presence can be felt through deep intimacy for and with another.  It is also experienced when we respond from a heart felt place of kindness and respect.  Another way to experience the energy of love is through the act of Forgiveness.  It is believed that those who bring us suffering are actually bringing us the gift of understanding where we need to grow, if we are to truly become authentic beings.  Often grief is the feeling experienced after such encounters.  And, grief has been the overwhelming feeling of my fourth chakra for the past few months.  The book explains on page 167 that by channeling the energy of love, divine grace will help you heal …..will help you take your power back through the act of Forgiveness.  If we are to BE, then we need to BE fully present.  Holding on to moments that are not, or were not what we had hoped, imagined or desired, stagnates our growth or said in a different way, holds us in our past.  By forgiving, by allowing divine grace to flow, we allow the energy of grief to pass through us instead of residing in us.  The feeling or energy of grief may pass through us many times, necessitating many repetitions of Forgiveness, but the act of loving, of allowing divine grace, in the the form of Forgiveness will free us to BE present to ourselves and others.  It will allow us to participate in the now, fully conscious and fully connected.  What a gift to the planet and all those who share it with us.

My Reiki Story – Part 101
Posted: January 6, 2015

As we begin the journey of 2015 it seems fitting that the first blog of the year be 101.  As we step into the flow of this year’s energy let us return to the basics of Reiki:  Reiki 101.  It all begins with the Reiki Principles:

  • Just for today, do not anger.
  • Just for today, do not worry.
  • Just for today, I will live in gratitude. I will honour myself, my parents, my teachers and my elders.
  • Just for today, I will earn my living honestly.
  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

These are such profound concepts if we allow the energy of each principle to teach us over the days, months and year of 2015.  Consider that the emotion of anger entangles our energy in the past while worry steals our energy from the present moment.  What would the experience of today be if we could focus and manifest the energy of gratitude, honour, honesty and kindness, even if we don’t particularly feel them in the moment?

My practice over the last 18 years has been to focus on one principle per month.  This month is Just for Today, Do not Anger.  My work will be to notice and allow anger to show itself and its catalyst.  Then, take responsibility for my response – what do I choose to add to this situation?  …Escalated anger?  …Defensiveness?  …Retreat?  Or accept that the emotion is a part of me and just allow it to pass through my system without causing harm to myself or another.  Can I find a way to breath and move the energy through my body?  Can I find a way to bring gratitude to this circumstance, while honouring myself and another?   Can I be honest with myself about the reason for the surfacing of the anger and will I be able to respond with kindness?  Will you join on this journey inward?

Grace, Reiki and the Third Chakra….I am still working through Carolyn Myss’ book “Invisible Acts of Power-Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life”.   Our third Chakra works with our Ego Energy and is all about “what I am”.  It is the centre for “self-esteem, personal power, of honour and ethics” and “where we generate the ability to make decisions for ourselves, to handle crises and take risks”.  (page 25)    It brings the “gifts of self-esteem, unconditional support, friendship and personal dignity.” (page 25)  One of the gifts of the past few months has been with this chakra.  My biological family was very weak when building self-esteem, especially with their girls.  The dissonance created by the deceptions over the last few months has really driven me into my third chakra to discover what has attracted this energy.  Working with my counsellor has uncovered patternings that I have outgrown and no longer serve me in my present life.  I believe that some lessons have to be delivered by someone or circumstance that literally stop you from continuing life as it is.  Often, it has to be a family member, close friend or physical trauma to deliver the message.  As the unwinding of the circumstance continues, I am better able to experience the grace present as all was unfolding.  Kindness and compassion have to be central to the unwinding as time moves forward.  With the support of Grace and Reiki, my family and friends,  I can breath again.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Grace, Reiki and the Second Chakra….I am still working through Carolyn Myss’ book “Invisible Acts of Power-Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life”.   Our second Chakra, named the Sacral Chakra has the energy of Self-Protection and is all about “Gifts of Survival-Financial and Creative Support” (page 23).  “Your second chakra oversees “what’s mine”-your personal belongings, relationships, and partnerships.  It represents growing up out of the roots of your tribal or group identity and into your ability to provide for yourself” (page 23).   As the past few months have unfolded, my second chakra has been clearly indicating that there is dissonance in my field.  My “guts” have been trying to tell me something for months and months, but I could not listen.  My genetic tribe’s teaching about relationship and partnership was dysfunctional at best.  The need to re-educate myself was clear.  The necessary teachers have been present in my life, but I did not recognise them.   Grace working through Reiki helped me accept life’s challenge as it was and not as I would have liked it to be.  It was a very difficult process, but life enhancing every step of the way.  The courage necessary to look at and work through what was transpiring became available through intent.  “Reiki please flow and guide me” became my mantra.  Different ideas of relationship and partnership with self and others came through dreams, chance discussions with other people, books, movies and meditations.  What a gift!!!  At the end of the day, the lesson in my second chakra was about self love, acceptance and kindness.  Who knew?  My “guts” are healing.  I am not as willing to accommodate at my own expense.  And yet, as the Dalai Lama says, “Mine is the religion of Kindness” (Reiki principle number 5).  What is next  🙂

Grace, Reiki and the First Chakra….I am still working through Carolyn Myss’ book “Invisible Acts of Power-Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life”.   Our first Chakra, named the Root Chakra is all about “Gifts of the Earth-Food and Shelter” (page 22).  “Its energy is located at the base of the spine and includes your home, family, support system and social connections” (page 22).   As the past few months have unfolded, there has been a strong daily desire to directly treat and rely upon my Root Chakra.  The energies of our various tribes (genetic and social) are stored here as well their teachings about self-care in the physical dimension-food and shelter.  My genetic tribe’s teaching about self-care was severely lacking.  My regular Reiki treatments helped me to see the limitations and opportunities for change and growth.  Grace was instrumental in this process.  It was never about blame or shame.  It was more like lifting a heavy veil to reveal some disconnected or misaligned energy pathways.  My social tribes were incredibly supportive. Initially, I was unable to recognize or meet some of my first chakra needs, but my children and friends made the connections and put the necessary energy in motion to so.  The energy of their grace created a soft landing place.  As this chakra evolves, enhances and rebalances itself, I am grateful for the opportunity to step forward with a new understanding of self-care, responsibility and accountability.  What a ride!!!

Grace.  The book “Invisible Acts of Power, Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life” by Caroline Myss has now fully engaged my attention.  It is as if I am seeing life through a different lens.  It truly has a light blue tint to it.  The book has reminded me –on page 58- of six of the universal truths.  I had forgotten some along the way and found great comfort and reassurance by reading them, and so would like to use today’s blog to pass on their guidance.  They are in no particular order, directly from page 58….First, you are where you are supposed to be and in every moment there is an opportunity to serve another or to receive support.  Second, there are no such things as coincidences or accidents.  Look for the meaning in your synchronistic encounters.  Third, any form of assistance you offer is an act of healing.  Fourth, anything you do for others, as well as the support you receive in your own life, has healing consequences for the whole human community.  Fifth, you will always receive help within a second of a prayer.  To recognize the help, you must see everything in your life from that second on as a part of the answer to your prayer.  Sixth, everything you do consciously is an invisible act of power.

Grace.  The book “Invisible Acts of Power, Channeling Grace in Your Everyday Life” by Caroline Myss had been trying to get my attention over the last few weeks.  I promised to read it as soon as I had finished my then current book “The Help”.  Within the first few pages, I understood why the book was calling.  On page 15 through 16 of the book we read “Although it is difficult to capture its full nature in one definition, grace is unmistakable when experienced.  Grace is a noun and a verb: it is a state and an action, an energy that flows between two beings.  Grace is gratis, a gift.  In theology, grace is defined as unmerited divine assistance, aid given to help us regenerate our spirits and lives-a virtue coming from God”.  The book then goes through the chakra system and how grace manifests through each.  The explanations are very interesting and then Chakra Six appears.  On page 29 it reads “Chakra Six, The Energy of Rational Thought.   Gifts of the Mind-Wisdom and Optimism.  ….  It is impossible to be both wise and pessimistic.  Yet you have to nurture optimism consciously.  Wisdom arises through effort.  You have to choose to make the best of a difficult situation and to trust that a reason beyond your understanding is always at work.  This is the wisdom to accept things as they are   …..  Never, ever underestimate the inherent power that exists within your own archive of wisdom, and never judge the quality of your wisdom by the response of the listener.”    Yikes…So this has been the lesson and the gift of the last few months.

I want to thank everyone who has read and/or commented on my blogs.  It has been quite a tool for growth and your comments, mostly through email and phone, have really helped to keep my perspective and outlook in the Reiki tradition.  But, questions have been asked about the human aspect.  I have to admit that being human and having a human experience while engaging Divine principles has proved most challenging.  Some days, I would just cave into despair, some days, I would see the “big” picture with all the gifts it held.  And, some days, my bodies-physical, emotional, and spiritual-were numb, unable to process or understand any of the events of the past months.  The emails or phone calls all seemed to arrive at a time when I was most vulnerable.  I have to say that my faith and trust in Reiki and its process were never in question.  The vulnerable feelings all revolved around my capacity to step up and into what was being asked of me.  Deep change and evolution has occurred during this time.   Maybe I am finally moving into my true self, devoid of clutter on the emotional realm , growing capacity on the physical realm and empowered on the spiritual realm.

Transitions….One of the constants of life is change.  It seems that people change, environments change, our bodies change, our children and friends change their perspectives, homes, careers, as do we .  The energy of Kindness and Compassion given to me and my family over the last few months has allowed the direct experience of Grace to happen.  My Reiki practice has given me strength and endurance.  All the Beings (people, animals, crystals, plants) in my life have shrouded me in comfort and blessings.  The question now becomes, how to make the “highest good” possible for all involved?  Now comes the time to step forward with courage and trust in the future.  My focus in doing so,  is for the energy of transition to remain calm and loving.

Kindness and Compassion….this is the energy that has totally encompassed my life in the last couple of weeks.  And, if I could have been totally present,  I would have noticed these energies throughout our last few months.  When all interactions are stepped into with a conscious intent of only Kindness and Compassion, the outcomes are soft, loving and some border on miracles.  The opportunity to look at myself through that lens, whether it is my conscious mind and patterns, or my subconscious and default patternings, was and is truly a blessing.   The opportunity to step back into my wounds and bring a new level of healing was awesome.  New strengths, new insights, new thoughts are emerging.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

The Healing Continues….Life is beginning to find its flow.  Decisions have been made with the highest good of all concerned as the focal point in the process.   Reiki has proven to be the balancing force as our family moves forward.  Using Reiki to wrap each other in the energy of kindness and compassion has softened many discussions and guided many outcomes.  What a essential tool.  This process has reinforced my commitment to treating and teaching.

The Universe has continued to open new possible outcomes.  I must admit that it has been very gentle and loving in the process. In my last blog I requested that “If you would like to help, please, wrap us all in light, love and Reiki energy as we step forward.”  The Energy that has since enveloped us has been unconditionally awe inspiring.  Thank you for your sendings.    During the more difficult moments, it feels like being embraced and supported by strong energy currents.  During the more gentle moments, compassion and kindness engulfs us.   We have been provided with the opportunity for confirmation and connection to our spiritual body, healing to our emotional body and integration with our physical body……what a jaw dropping experience.

There are so many layers and levels of layers to my summer experience.  To begin…the “lost” family member is found, physically fine and healing emotionally.  The dynamics of our family are forever changed.  Now the work begins….what is required-medical and/or physiological care, what to do with their findings, how to stay out of judgement, how to allow the emotional wounds time for healing, how to find the learnings and lessons woven into the events, how to trust.  As mentioned in my last blog, my physical body has become the support for my emotional body.  My spiritual body is surrounding both with “highest good” intentions.   Reiki has been the glue that has held it all together.  When I cannot sleep at night, the Reiki starts flowing…during this treatment, insights are given,  the “bigger” picture revealed in a way that I can accept-one piece at a time.  It seems that this is an opportunity for great healing within my family….it could involve the generations.  If you would like to help, please, wrap us all in light, love and Reiki energy as we step forward.

Life continues to be jaw dropping amazing.  As mentioned in the previous blog, life as I knew it has been shattered.  It was during the darkest moment that my physical body delivered a message to my emotional body of such profound support that it completely shifted it.  I was lying in bed trying to rest at the end of the first day of not knowing if a family member was alive or dead….still a missing person…police involved…emotionally shattering.  My hands were shaking, so I placed my left hand on my heart.  Then my heart this said this to me…..I am here Dear One….for you.  Feel how strongly I am beating, rest in my strength, know that I will always be here for you.  I have to admit that the dialog shocked me.  As I struggled with my disbelief, my heart continued….now Dear One, feel your lungs, they are strong, they are here for you to use….breath into them, let them help you…breath….breath….breath more….breath deeply.  I could feel my emotional body switch out of panic distress.  It felt like an integration, a most loving integration of support.  I can still feel it today.  And, it still makes my jaw drop in gratitude.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

Sometimes the Universe takes your life and shatters it so you can put the pieces together in a different pattern.  The last few weeks have been quite extreme, but life is now finding a new flow.  The Reiki energy has ramped up and new Beings are present at the treatments and classes.  I started working with the idea that before we incarnate, we decide which body type we would like to live in for that life time.  The body type includes our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.  I could “see” the body types as blueprints and called them the Divine Templates or Divine Blueprints.  Next, my Reiki Master brought a gift of intention.  The intention is “May I (you; we) realize my (your; our) optimal potential in alignment with divine purpose in this and every moment”.  I started to visualize these two ideas while treating or teaching.  I also asked the client/student to visualize their Divine Blueprint hovering over their physical body and encouraged their physical/emotional/spiritual body to align with the Divine Blueprint.  The results have been quite amazing!!  I am not certain that I would have been able to reach this level of channeling without the shattering.  Thank you again Universe for empowering me on my path.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

The idea that life is more of a meander than a straight line wanders through my thoughts more and more these days.  The teaching is, to just let life meander without becoming attached to outcomes.  Joffre decided to take a break from the business, just as the services of Louise Pritchard became available.   She has been able to take over most of his duties…hence the meander…our plan for “getting the work done” shifted, but, as always, the Universe had plan “B” ready.  We are very happy to be able to contract time with “Louise Pritchard Professional Services”.  And, look forward to our time together.   Louise can be reached at or 613-253-8667 or 613-621-2757.   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

One of the challenges mentioned in my last blog has been the well being of our 18 year old kitty, Sydney.  She has been failing since Christmas, but would always rally back and become her usual loving self in a day or two.  Over the last two weeks, her health became critical and we decided to have her euthanized rather than suffer.  The last days of her life saw a dramatic decline with her body’s ability to function.  We used the services of The Perth Veterinary Clinic on Sunset Blvd.  Dr. Matthew Boylan helped us with Sydney’s passing in a most respectful and caring manner.  He addressed her directly and let her know what the procedure would be.  She purred the entire time, as if giving consent.  All aspects of her process where dignified…..fitting her personality.  We then used the services of Hilton’s Unforgettable Tails, Pet Memorial Services in Smith Falls.  It uses a green cremation process.  The respect and dignity given to her by Dale and his Aunt brought such comfort to us.  We are most grateful for the care given to Sydney at her time of transition.  Thank you to Dr. Matthew Boylan and Hilton’s Unforgettable Tails

I need to confess up that life can sometimes be a challenge, even for someone who has been journeying as a working Reiki Master/Teacher for 15 years.  Our family is going through some personal transitions…some issues settling themselves with time and patience…this is easy to do…I just need to let it happen.  Other issues seem to be confusing and covered in layers of hidden or unexplained or unrealised agendas.  In the past, my reaction to the second set of issues would have been to become personally involved and try to help find a path to a win/win solution.  This time around, I decided to try to be in the energy of the situation without adding my own desired outcome to it and just let the situation flow through me.  If it triggered me in any way, I tried to be more responsible with the energy vibration I brought to the situation.  Depending on how triggered by emotional body was, my contribution varied from compassion and love to judgment and frustration.  When I would experience the judgment vibration, I would then try to move it to the discernment vibration.  This proved to be very difficult at times, other times, I could move the vibration quite readily.  During this process, I tried not to help find a solution, but, just hold the highest vibration I could muster at the time….keeping my thoughts and suggestions to myself.  The Universe was very supportive and gifted me with glimpses of what the others were experiencing from their point of view.   This brought new insights and understandings that I would have missed in the past and helped me move to the vibration of discernment, love and compassion.  I am adding this process to my daily practice as our family continues it’s transitions.  Phew…. being human is awesome.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

The Reiki Energy and Communications continue.  We had the opportunity to experience the Energy Balance Exchange Night on Friday evening via giving a talk on Reiki.  The group was most receptive and again affirmed my belief in the expanding consciousness of our society.  The group was mixed in gender, ages and energy work experience.  All participants opened to the group treatment, everyone shared some aspect of their story openly and the energy of community and fellowship was  incredible to witness. You can follow their program at

We were doubly blessed this weekend with an opportunity on Saturday to teach a Level I class at the Purple Door Books and Gifts facility.  The setting is along the beautiful St. Lawrence River, the classroom is a rustic out building on a classic country property.  The energy was most inviting and empowering.  The owners of the The Purple Door Books and Gifts were extremely well organized and helpful.  All was in place for the students to experience the training wrapped in energy directly from Source.  For more information about the facility, visit their web site

An “Aha” moment….delivered by Universe.  One of the tools used during the Reiki training classes are oracle decks.  There are a variety of decks displayed with the student open to draw from the deck that appeals to them.  We each draw one card and most often that card will speak directly to the student and also lend to the overall teaching of all the drawn cards.  This Saturday was a phenomenal Level II class with one student.  She had many questions and was diligent with integrating her understandings into her practice.  We touched on the subject of gratitude.  Then, when we drew cards….her card, drawn from the Allow, Believe, Know deck said the following….”Conclude each and every day with a sense of gratitude, praise and thanksgiving.  This allows the Universe to believe and know that you welcome its flowing of energy.  If you do not welcome and thank the Universe, this indicates that you are not welcoming or thanking or being grateful for you.  You being the Universe.”  Aaahhh…such an understandable explanation!  Thank You!!!  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

Miracles….how sweet to live in the energy of them.  I finally decided to consciously shift my thought patterns from that of always working on miracles to that of always living in a miracle.  The process has taken a few months.  The concept started as a small thought in the middle of the night…sort of an twinkle.  It did not surface again for a couple of days, but when it did, the thought stayed in the back of my mind.  The thought process would go something like this….a client would come for a treatment and we would work on their miracle.  As time passed, the miracle itself or a version of it would come to pass.  My brain would think how wonderful if we could always live in that reality, but, then it would go back to old patterns of always having to work on them.  About a week ago, again in the middle of the night, the twinkle became a dream…I dreamt of shooting a hole in one on the golf course,  and various other scenarios that would be classed as a miracle in my life.  The message seemed to be…miracles are a way of life, not work, just keep doing your best.  So over the last week I decided to try it out.  Everyday I gave gratitude for the miracles.  And, every day they appeared…some small, some big, some that have changed my world.  To the Indigo Beings…Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

The Indigo Beings.  I met them while treating Richard Lewis of Shaman’s Sound, who also practices and teaches Tibetan Buddhism.  They came as three very powerful but benevolent healers.  They have graced me with their presence during Reiki treatments and channelings since that day.  A couple of months ago, Richard and I we asked to combine our practices into a single treatment.  We did try and where quite astounded by the results.  The Indigo Beings worked in conjunction with the Reiki channeling while Richard guided the person through a Shamanic healing ritual.  This treatment created a profound and lasting change for the client.  To further the practice of these sessions, we have decided to offer them as a “Spiritual and Emotional Reboot”.  The session will be 90 minutes in length and will cost $120.00.  If you would like to experience a session, please call  613-264-8165 or e-mail   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

Finally, I am back to the blog.  We have been very busy with Reiki Associates, Lotus Wings and a bit of a holiday.  We have revised my book “Reiki Wings, Usui Reiki Teacher’s Handbook” and all accompanying Student’s Notes.  All books are available through Amazon or our website.  Lotus Wings will sport some new signage in the spring and new siding in the fall.  The town of Perth has been very supportive and helpful with the permit and design process.  And, while teaching in St Thomas,  we decided to add a bit of a holiday to the trip.  We spent two lovely days in a fishing village near St Thomas called Port Stanley.  What a joyful experience!!  The accommodations, food, service and village were exactly what was needed to unwind.  And through all of this, the beautiful Indigo Beings were present.  Many Miracles….

The renaming of the Level III course to Reiki Master Practitioner has necessitated changes to my book “Reiki Wings,  Usui Reiki Teacher’s Handbook” and the accompanying Student’s Notes.  This will be our third revision.  During the process we will make a few other updates.  We will incorporate testimonials from teachers who consistently use our materials for their classes.  The current history of Usui Reiki will be rewritten to reflect new published research.  Fix any remaining grammar and spelling errors….amazing that there are still some of these.  And, I will update my photo for a more current look.  All in all, the process is very exciting.  We will have the revisions completed with the updated book available by the end of April.

Change…..Our national association, the Canadian Reiki Association, has the following position with the listed commitment and goals:  from their website

First and foremost, we believe in equality. In becoming members of the Canadian Reiki Association, our practitioners and teachers express their support for the idea that all styles of Reiki are equally valid and that no one style of Reiki is better or more authentic than another.

While CRA members support holistic healing, we understand that Reiki is not superior to allopathic or other complementary intervention, but rather is an additional method of addressing the issue. We believe in the therapeutic effectiveness of Reiki, both as a free-standing therapy and/or in conjunction with other modalities.

The Canadian Reiki Association is committed to promoting ethical practices and teaching; encouraging educational standards; and providing the public with referrals to our Registered Practitioners and Registered Teachers.

The practice of Reiki in Canada has grown extensively in recent years.  Currently, there are many systems of Reiki being used and taught.   The Canadian Reiki Association has the perplexing issue of how to bring some form of standardization to a practice that is experiential and sometimes defies our vocabulary.  One effort has been the renaming of the Usui Level III to the Reiki Master/Practitioner Level.  Initially, for me, this felt like a compromise and a step away from the system I use and was taught.  But, as I sat with the notion, the concept, the energy of the change, I began to realize that it was only semantics and that Level III could be named almost anything and that would not change the teaching nor the Reiki energy connection.  Through this process I became acutely aware of how profound my relationship with Reiki has become.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

Awesome….as told last blog, I managed to take myself out at the knees-literally.  While finding ways to walk without putting pressure on my knees, avoid stairs, and drive our standard shift car, healing has been happening quickly and in magical ways.  I am still in awe of how deeply of our thoughts are integrated into our physical being.  Flashbacks from childhood are afoot again as well as judgement and forgiveness.  As my knees heal, layers of old memories are surfacing…..memories that leave me feeling shame, fear and guilt.  I am surrounding these memories with Reiki and The Indigo Beings in meditation daily….choosing to embrace them, and their significance to my life patterns.  As I follow this practice, my reaction to the memories is less judgmental and moving toward forgiveness.  Forgiveness…forgiveness of myself ?…totally ?…for everything I have done ?…or said ?…or thought ?…Once I thought that impossible, now it is a maybe growing toward yes.    Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen…. How intense is this?  I have to admit, that sometimes I truly do not understand.  Breaking my wrist for example…that took months for the total lesson to unfold and many times I felt discouraged.  But, the end result was the planting of a seed for a peaceful relationship with my Mother…..that I will joyfully nurture.   Up until that time,  the relationship was detrimental, complete with a great deal of animosity on both sides.  Now onto the next level of confusion, or bewilderment, or ?????   On February 23rd while thoroughly enjoying a very gentle run in the sunshine, I managed to fracture a bone in my foot, that in turn slightly moved the smaller bone in my shin, that in turn caused my knee bones to inflame their meniscus.  For the last week, I have been hobbling in total disbelief.  I have also been focused on the Indigo Beings, Miracles and loving my body….let’s see where this will go…..yikes…..  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

My Body…Miracles…yikes…again!  This Reiki journey holds such richness, fascination and awe.  While I continued to speak more kindly, more lovingly to my body; my body decided to dialogue directly with me.  I guess that I am far enough along the path to accept that this is possible and embrace the idea of this communication.  But, the experience of the discussion was so much more than my mind could imagine.  We (my husband and I) decided not to have a glass of wine regularly due to over consumption during the Christmas holidays.  Because of this decision, my body had not experienced more than two glasses of wine in total since the beginning of January.  But, last week, we decided to try a bottle of wine about which we had heard accolades.   I must admit that the bottle we consumed was most delicious and it was behaviour we have enjoyed many times.  That night I had a fitful sleep and experienced a deep discussion with my body.  It was akin to witnessing a discussion between two people.    It gently explained how adversely the wine had affected it.   And, then posed this question  “Why the whole bottle, when one glass would have satisfied your taste and not have caused the discomfort?”  What a shock to hear …What a good question to ask…I still do not have the answer!

The Blog has been focusing on Miracles and the Indigo Beings.  Today, I would like to take the opportunity to speak to the miracle of the physical body.  In particular, I would like to formally address my body.  I have spent my entire life time using my body as if it had an endless supply of energy and ability to heal.  If unhappy, I would find a way to numb it.  If frightened, I would find a way to hide the emotion in it.  If feeling unworthy, I would do something to punish it.  Sometimes I am ashamed of my body, its size, shape, smell, or its ability to function.  While we have been discussing miracles and the Indigo Beings, I have become acutely aware my relationship with my body.  YIKES!  I would like to formally apologize to my body for my actions and thoughts towards it.  The miracle that has been slowly taking shape is my growing ability to speak kindly to my body and to respect its needs, desires and limitations.   During my Reiki self treatments, the Indigo Beings are present, bringing a level of self awareness that is more evolved, more kind, more insightful, more forgiving, more loving.  Thank you, body of mine, for hanging in there while I stumbled through the lessons.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen.  Denise

The magic continues….The combination of the Reiki energy with the indigo beings is unfolding in something just short of miracles.  During each session, I  ask the client at some point during their session “What is your miracle?” and then work with that combined energy and their intent.  We focus and discuss what the highest good for them would be and then focus and discuss what the highest good of the other or others or situation could look like.  We do not focus on, nor discuss, the how.  It is often difficult for the client to think of the highest good for someone who has caused them or someone close to them harm, but, they are able to move to those thoughts.  That outcome in itself moves the vibration of the treatment energy to the higher realms.  Then, the energy seems to continue after the session for the client until some beneficial change happens.  Often, after the session, a client will leave a message that begins with … “you won’t believe what happened”.  Thank you Universe!  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen, Denise

I have continued incorporating the indigo energy into the Reiki flow during client treatments.  We also incorporated it during the last Reiki Share.  Clients are resolving their energetic dissonance and finding new opportunities along their path to be in the energy of integrity, balance and evolution.  The collective energy of the share (four people) was incredible.  During the opening meditation, we each invited the Reiki flow to begin, then asked the indigo energy to merge.  Each person was asked to bring the image of their personal miracle to the group meditation, then include any other person or circumstance.   The intensity of the meditation grew as we sat for thirty minutes…each person experiencing unconditional love, empowerment and clarity…each clear on their path…totally inclusive…totally magic.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen…

Miracles.  Miracles….what constitutes a miracle?  ….how do miracles happen?  ….who initiates a miracle? ….can I facilitate one?  ….for myself…..for my clients?  As these questions starting forming in my head, I have to admit that I kept them there, never voicing them, until now.  They somehow seemed tied to “The forgiveness is my function as the light of the world”  personal work I was doing.  As these questions persisted in my head, I started to witness the most beautiful indigo colour either in my mind’s eye with clients during their treatments or as I was falling asleep at night.  Then, the next question that came was for the clients….. Ask them to describe what their miracle would be.  As they voiced their answers, amazing things started to happen to the energy in their systems…..the dissonance reduced….helpful ideas came…..some found resolution to old problems….circumstances changed.  This all began with voicing “Reiki please flow” and then concentrating on the indigo colour flowing with the Reiki energy…..people produced their own miracles-some small, some grand-all effective.  I am going to bring this to all sessions for the next while.  Will keep you posted.  Thank you Universe…Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen.

Just for today…do not worry.  Becoming more aware of my contributions on an energetic level has been quite an adventure.  One of the most fascinating, has been the second principle….Just for Today, do not worry.  When I began looking at worry from an energy point of view, it became clear that worry itself has an energy to it and that worrying about someone or something was actually sending them that vibration.  I have to admit that when I worry, I worry big…the worst possible scenario…  So, the question became…is that the vibration that I would choose to contribute to the person or situation.  The next questions became….What do I choose to contribute and how to make that happen.  The Universe gave me a picture of wrapping the subject of the worry in a white light ribbon from top to bottom, side to side.  Then, make the decision to keep that visual as the vibration that is contributed.  If the mind goes back to the first vibration, gently bring it back to the white light ribbon picture.  It requires practice, but, after awhile it becomes second nature.    This technique also brings about a feeling of relief/release.  Thank you Universe.  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen.

“Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world”  from a Course in Miracles.  Combining this quote with the Reiki principle of “Just for Today, I will be kind to every living thing”, continues to bring new insights and methodologies for living a more peaceful, integrated life.  My work currently is to re-pattern my thoughts, energies and knee jerk reactions around practice people.  Formerly, I would respond to them with a set pattern of judgment and action.  Over the past weeks I have been actively witnessing my thoughts, energies and reactions in an effort to become more aware of my contributions to the exchange.  Using the image of a divine flame in their heart chakra to respond to, instead of my perception of their actions has moved some (most) interactions from that of dissonance to peace.   I have to admit, it takes effort on my part, but, with practice it is becoming the norm.  Staying anchored in Reiki energy with a conscious mind to kindness and gratitude has been key.   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen.

The journey continues… work for 2014 is to be responsible and accountable for my energy (physically, emotionally, spiritually) as stated in the last blog.  The Universe has provided the opportunity for the next steps.  Earlier in the blogs, I mentioned breaking my wrist and that event leading to work around my Mother.  Our relationship has been rocky for all of my life.  A few weeks ago, my Mother fell, broke her hip necessitating surgery.  I felt a STRONG pull to give her a hands on Reiki treatment.  Arrangements were made, my husband, my son, (Mom’s grandson), my sister and her son (another grandson) all agreed to help with the treatment….We travelled to Port Stanley, gathered as a group, had lunch with her and began her treatment.  She was delighted to have us all there with her and loved the treatment.  She kept smiling and saying “this feels really good”.  We worked with her for almost an hour-a long time for someone her age (82).  Finally, it was time to close.  She was so grateful, her energy brightened as the treatment progressed and I could feel the energy of the others shifting also…..Today, I opened my email (we are now back to Perth) to find a message from the “Course in Miracles”  ….

“Forgiveness is my function as the light of the world.” — Workbook, Lesson 62…. In the Course, forgiveness is a spiritual action given through each person’s free will. It means seeing the absolute, perfect innocence of every person, including yourself, no matter what happened.

When I reflect on the happenings around my Mother that day, I realise that the energy of forgiveness was present with everyone.  Forgiveness flowed in all time and dimension directions.  Great healings happened.  All is forgiven by me, by her, by the family members present.  What a most wonderful Christmas present.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thoughts for 2014
Posted: December 16, 2013

What a year we have had with Reiki Associates and Lotus Wings.  There has been major growth, change and challenge on all fronts.  As we approach 2014, I am choosing to be open and receptive to all teachings and teachers from our past year and years.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for being present with us and for us.  The key themes that seemed to link together were those of kindness, gratitude, discernment and  judgment.  Living those energies and learning from those energies as they have moved through my life and continue to, is bringing me to a constant state of awareness around being responsible for my energy input into the larger whole.  To that end, my focus for 2014 is to more aware, responsible, and accountable for my thoughts, words, actions, habits, traits and overall health.  Reiki please flow!!  Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen  🙂

The Perfect Storm-Technically Speaking

The Perfect Storm…technically speaking.  After a fretful night of sleep, I have come to the conclusion that I am not as evolved as I had suspected…yikes!  There are so many lessons attached to this experience.   At the beginning of this….three weeks ago, I was able to just live it one day at a time.  As the weeks progressed, I managed to stay calm as our email disappeared, then our website disappeared, then we began showing as a site that was not in line with the Reiki teachings.  Still calm, we thought through bringing in someone to help us(our tech guy was away-we decided not to add to the confusion)…..this really brought to the surface my lack of ability in the Virtual World.  My lack of understanding and knowledge played heavily on my self esteem…..but….I constantly heard the message “Just Trust”.   I cycled through frustration, helplessness and disappointment regularly, but, still remained calm.  Finally, yesterday, all came back to normal.  There is a level of built in protection in the Virtual World that I did not know about.  We have now launched our new website…more user friendly….our e-mails are back in action….apologies sent.  The event was not anyone’s fault….it was just a series of timing issues with technology.  By the end of the day yesterday, I was elated to have our Reiki Associates back, but totally exhausted by the experience.  So, on some level, even though I managed to remain calm, I was still strongly impacted by the experience…..still engaging…still buying into the drama….still a work in progress  🙂

We are back online and happy to be so!!!  We have just experienced the perfect technical storm….dates, deadlines and technical difficulties….it has been quite the event.  Now, we are through the storm with the reassurance that even within this, we were somewhat protected and safe.  Trust….just trust….was always the message.  More comments tomorrow…tonight I need to rest.  Sending Reiki Blessings from Reiki Associates.

I am still experiencing Technical Difficulties….But…

have decided not to let it be a problem.  If you have not had a response to your email, please resend to or phone 613.264.8165 or 613.913.2803.   Choice…one of the lessons attached to this experience has been that of choice.  If I choose it to be difficult, frustrating and limiting, then it will be.    Instead, I choose to just flow with the experience…I am becoming more technically savvy, finding new ways to communicate, and trust the issue will be resolved as time permits.  This really feels like one of my practice people!!  Just for today….I allow myself to just flow…. not react, go into blame or judgment….and enjoy the day and its blessings!   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen  🙂

Transformation…..I will use this word to describe that last few weeks.  Focussing on being with or within the energy of kindness/gratitude or discernment has brought about a shift in how I perceive my fit into the flow.  The change seems to be that rather than the energy supporting me and my decisions, there has been a gradual awaking to experiencing the energy moving through me and bringing my desires into alignment with the flow.  A subtle shift, but profound.  I am still integrating my way of being into the shift.  The miracles are daily.  My “practice person” has responded as the third principle explains-through the energy of engagement.  How sweet, how simple, how loving.  Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Keep it Simple….this leads me right back to the Reiki Principles.  Keep it simple, does that mean to always step forward with the energy of compassion and love?  I am beginning to think so.  When I talked with my “practise person” again, I consciously tried to stay in the energy of compassion and love.  And, I added one more thing…the thought that their “stuff” was theirs and only theirs to work on…I was not responsible for their growth, only them.  As I chatted with my person within those energies, something magical happened.  Suddenly, I saw them as someone struggling to find their truth.  When I took an emotional step back, instead of engaging in their drama, I could not only channel the energy of compassion and love, but feel it as well.  How powerful and yet simple.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

The lessons continue.  I had been working with the energy of gratitude/kindness which lead to working with the energy of judgement/discernment.  YIKES!!  What a journey.  During the final few days of last week and the first few days of this week the Universe has brought “practise people” to me.  Practise  people are those people that help you really look at yourself through a certain lens with a leaning to personal growth on your part.  The exercise of staying out of judgement around them while looking solely at my own thoughts, words, emotional reactions and actions has been tough.  I must admit that I am not as evolved as hoped.  In a couple of cases, my first impulse was to place blame and look toward them for some token of amendment.  I had to spend quite a bit of time in mediation and self reflection to find the energy of compassion which then lead from judgement to discernment.   In one case, it was most difficult.  The struggle was……..what was the highest good for me and what was the highest good for them.  When they don’t match….where do you go to find a balance of needs?  “Keep it simple”, kept running through my thoughts.  What did that mean…compassion…forgiveness…unconditional love?  I am still working the process….

My Reiki life is so rich!  I have been delinquent with my blog due to family responsibilities.  One of our family members has manifested his dream job, but it required changing cities…moving from Toronto to London (Ontario).  He asked for help, we said yes to the opportunity.  He was very organized and motivated for his move, so there was minimal work for us to do upon our arrival.  We decided to go for a walk along the Lakeshore Blvd in Toronto….to give him personal space with the movers and the implications of the move …and to stretch our legs before our drive to London.  My husband and I were discussing the idea/energies of gratitude/kindness and judgement.  It moved to a discussion between judgement and discernment.  What is the difference….in how we respond in the situation…in the flow of the energy….in the effect each has on our personal body.  As we strolled the Lakeshore discussing the issue, we came upon the most beautiful statue of an Angel surrounded by Egyptian busts.  The inscription on the statue said  “Be in the Peace…Be Peace”.  The answer to choosing discernment over judgement.  Judgement feels like an either/or decision, and personally…. makes me feel contracted.  Bringing the energy of discernment to an issue seems to move you to a broader view, with more choice of response, and personally….makes me feel more expanded.   It seemed as if the Universe placed the statue there at that moment just for us.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you…….Now…. to practice discernment.

Being in the energy of gratitude and kindness while staying out of judgement…..the task presently at hand during my Reiki experience.  As I began to work within these parameters a few difficulties came to the forefront.   There seems to be a strong dissonance between gratitude/kindness and judgement.  When in the energy of gratitude/kindness, I cannot be in the energy of judgement.  When in the energy of judgement, I cannot be in the energy of  gratitude/kindness.  The effect is immediate and clear.  The Universe seems to say choose one or the other.  My Reiki training leads me to gratitude/kindness, my “self” leads me to judgement.  To shift my “self” from judgement I have been working with “Reiki please flow”, then “being” the energy of gratitude/kindness.  The shift is coming more quickly as I practice with a clear intent.  I am still a “work in progress”.  🙂

As we stay in the energy of gratitude and kindness, more layers of blessings unfold.  It reminds me of the story told by Eckhart Tolle.  The story tells of a young man who inherits a car…his village says the car is a blessing…..he can travel more freely, etc……he is in a car accident, badly hurt…his village says the car was not a blessing…..war breaks out…he cannot go because of his injuries….the people say the car was indeed a blessing…and so the story goes.  Last year, I fall…give myself a concussion…not a blessing…through recovery, make peace with past issues…truly a blessing…fall again in August, break my wrist…..not a blessing….through treatments for recovery discover my spine has some difficulty that can be easily mended…what a blessing.   I think the next layer of discovery around 2013 for me is that of judgement.  Now, the practice will be….how to stay out of it when events happen on such a personal level.  This growth through Reiki is challenging work!!  But, I love it  🙂

This has been a most difficult entry.  So many truly amazing events are taking place with us and through us, that I do not know how to put the information together in a presentable form.  The best approach is always “to keep it simple”, so to that end…….the combination of the energy of gratitude and kindness started a process that has lead to……a total forgiveness of past traumas and their people connections……producing a  freedom I had never known.  The energies also started a process of healing a sadness that I could “feel in my bones”.  Finally, the energies brought the Reiki treatments to a more profound level…..To have the opportunity to practice Reiki on myself, family, clients and students brings a smile to my soul.

……The concussion produced flashbacks……allowing me to work through many childhood traumas.  According to some theories, we hold the energy of dealing with situations, with ease, in our wrists.  The relationship with my Mom was never one of ease.  The Sunday night of injuring my wrist, I dream of her.  In the dream, my husband and I are in a downtown somewhere.  I notice that she is parked in a car about six blocks ahead of us on the opposite side of the road.  I go to the car, get inside and notice that she is about thirty-five years old (I am still my present age) and dressed in a most beautiful blue gown.  We have a fabulous conversation, and then I leave her to bring my husband to the car.  As I reach him, she steps out of the car, twirls like a ballerina, waves good- bye, hops into the car and drives away.  I awake from the dream thinking she just passed.  The next day, call to find that she is alive and well……More…..

More Awesome…..more Healing.  The Universe has again brought me to my knees in gratitude.  This blog is long, so will be divided into three parts.  I discussed our holiday road trip last blog and alluded to two difficult situations that needed attention.  One of the difficult situations involved my Mother.  We have do have the history of an easy relationship during my lifetime.  She is now in her eighties, and dementia is taking her memories.   She does not always remember her children, but she also does not have the violent memories that haunted her.  She is now happy.  I had never had the opportunity to see her happy, so we decided to try a visit during our trip.  To my delight, she knew me, but addressed me with my adult name, not my childhood nickname.  She was delighted to see me…also a first for this lifetime…and spent the next hour and a half entertaining us with stories about her retirement home.  We all enjoyed the visit.  Now, fast forward to this past Sunday…..we are in the park, soaking up the summer day with friends and a picnic.  My husband and I are battling through a game of badminton…I am winning (hooray), step back to make the perfect volley, trip over a stump and break my wrist.  The time is exactly nine months since my fall in November 2012 and resulting concussion.  More to follow……

More Awesome……Combining the energy of kindness with gratitude has brought about events that I had previously thought impossible.  We have just returned to work after a holiday road trip.  We had designed the trip to integrate both  pleasure and a couple of difficult situations that needed our attention.  Needless to say, the pleasure aspects were pure pleasure.  We love the theatre, so added two plays in Stratford to our agenda…..both delivered, as did the food, scenery, and company!!  Next, came the difficult situations.  I opened to the energy of kindness and gratitude without expectation for those next steps.  Doing this was a challenge.  My mind would start the “what if…” thoughts. As this happened (often), I would gently remind myself that “Just for today”…..I bring the energy of kindness and gratitude to myself and those involved.  The difficult situations evolved to very pleasant experiences for everyone involved.  What a surprise!!!  What relief!!!  What validation!!!  Reiki again brought healing to places that I was convinced could/would not heal.  🙂

The circle of Kindness grows….like a pebble dropped into a body of calm water.  These last two weeks have continued to reinforce the fifth principle of Reiki.  “Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing”.  As the focus of my intent remains within the energy of kindness, the circle of influence seems to expand.  This week brought two examples of this energy working through clients into their circles.  The clients were astounded by the kindness coming their way through circumstance that would never before have given birth to the opportunity.  The opposite flow is also evident.  The kindness flowing to me and my family from the Universe through clients, friends, happenings, is equally present and awesome.  This week I am going to try to add the energy of gratitude to the intent of kindness.  This will incorporate the third and fifth principles…I will let you know how it unfolds!

As I focus on the energy of kindness and practice being the energy of kindness, extraordinary events are taking place.  The Universe is really driving home the message, the truth, that what you focus on…manifests.  Again, this week, magic happened.  We help with the Stewart Park Festival (a music festival) in Perth.  Our work is to organize the non music workshops for two days of the festival.  This year, I consciously strived to stay in the energy of kindness as all the chaotic things happened, that do happen when these events take place.  This year we included two new workshops, each an all day hands on experience.  On the last day of the festival, one of the new hands on workshop events donated a gift to the volunteers at the festival.  The gift was of such magnitude that describing it in terms of extreme generosity does not come close to their effort.  Their desire was to return the kindness offered to them by the volunteers during the festival.  Awesome….simply awesome!

Kindness continues……this week, I experienced a most extraordinary act of kindness.  My husband and I, along with my business group and their guest, were invited to one of the member’s cottage for a summer gathering.  It was the usual…bring bathing suits, something for a potluck meal and whatever you would like to drink.  Very typical for a summer gathering……..what we experienced was not.   The energy given by the hosting couple to the group was pure kindness.  It began at their gate with their greeting, it flowed through the swimming, the boat ride, the meal……attention given to each and every guest….each made to feel special and welcomed in their home.   All given without expectation.  It was just given from their heart to the heart of each person present.  Incredible!!

Kindness….I am seeing and hearing that word everywhere.  It is the fifth principle in the teachings of Reiki…..Just for today, be kind to every living being.  The Universe is bringing many opportunities to practice.  It is also bringing many opportunities to examine the definition of kindness, the energy of kindness and an individual’s practice of kindness.  The energy of kindness is a Universal energy and therefore available for use at any time in any situation.  We just have to open ourselves up to the flow and ask,  regardless of the circumstance.  The practice of kindness can be more challenging.  It can be flavoured by judgement….is this person deserving….do we agree or disagree with their actions…..what does it say of me if I show kindness in this situation….Here is the opportunity to meet your inner guide.  Can we allow ourselves to explore what lies under our perception of ourselves?

There is great value in taking each level of Reiki training more than once.  There is great value in immersing yourself in the words, the energy, the flow of each level.  You do not have to work with the same teacher each time.  You may experience the class individually or in a group-both have merit and bring a different vibration to your understanding.  To have the experience of going deeper into the unspoken meaning of each class will help you develop a comfort level with the vibration of that class.  The classes are all about evolving your unique energy system to interact, flow, integrate with the Universal Flow.  How exciting…..keep placing yourself in the path of the next highest vibration.

I would like to thank all those who have been reading my blog.  Many interesting questions have been asked by those reading and I would like to take the time to answer.  The interest around my new guides “The Davids” has been profound.  One of the most often asked questions is around free will… I feel “taken over” by them? ……am I free to be me while channeling them? ….

The Davids have proven to be the most sacred of guides I have worked with to date.  I can feel which David – the healer, the teacher, the voice, the seeker, the disciple etc. – is working with the client or student, but, I never feel out of control over the situation.  The respect given to me as a vessel for their work is indescribable.  My physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies feel expanded  and expansive while channeling them.  There seems to be enough space for them while leaving me intact.   The results of their work are immediate.   I have witnessed many blessings over the passed few months and now hold an expectation of just that for each client or student.   My Reiki eyes are more capable of seeing as well……..this has all been such a blessing….THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Another Learning…….The meditation class had four students in attendance.  Three students had at least their Level I training, this was the initial training for one student.  The Davids arrived on Friday night and became very noticeable by Saturday morning.  The class and their presence was incredible.  Each person had a different experience with the meditation, the information given during the meditation and the process of the class.  The three students with previous training in general found that  the meditations filled in areas of learnings and allowed them to go to a deeper level with the energy.  The new student was able to recount the knowledge needed to be a highly functioning Reiki practitioner and was equally capable of channeling the Reiki Energy.  The lesson-both methods of teaching are important and each will speak to the style of learning necessary for the student’s highest good.   Yet again….AWESOME!

“The Davids”  are now working with and through me consistently.  What an honour!!!!!  My physical body seems to have adjusted to their presence.  The Cranial Therapy adjustments are now holding and the major detox process of my physical, mental and emotional bodies seem to be waning.  This has truly been an adventure since my fall in November.  My taste for food has grown to the more basic style of preparation.  My desire to drink wine is almost nil.  There is no need for drama.  My body is very healthy and I am finding my brain more reliable.  The classes and treatments are incredible.  When I need help of any kind….They are most willing and exceedingly able.  THANK YOU……THANK YOU……THANK YOU!

Well, after much debate with “The Davids”, Reiki Associates will be offering a full meditation training class for Level I on June 15, 2013 from 10am to 5pm.  It was initially decided that this class would be for those who had been previously attuned to at least Level I Reiki…….I can be swayed.  Two requirement will be necessary.  One, that you will be able to sit in meditation for a total of four and a half hours over the day.   We will spend time in meditation with the Reiki Principles (90 minutes), the Attunement (60 minutes),  treatment protocol and  group treatment (120 minutes).  And, two you must receive your copy of your notes for reading and review before the day of the class.  Expect AWESOME!!

I was asked to write about my connection to these Beings during a psychic reading from my good friend Lori Semlitch from Coburg Ontario.  There was a direct communication to bring the work of these Beings to the public realm.  I have to admit that I was reluctant to write about meditative class and the treatments following that class.  But, as the courage came to blog about the experiences, the response from Them was to be even more present during classes and treatments.  The results for the students and clients have been so positive that my reluctance has been replaced with much gratitude.  We have named the Beings,  “The Davids”.   I feel there is more to come……YIKES!  🙂
