One of the challenges mentioned in my last blog has been the well being of our 18 year old kitty, Sydney.  She has been failing since Christmas, but would always rally back and become her usual loving self in a day or two.  Over the last two weeks, her health became critical and we decided to have her euthanized rather than suffer.  The last days of her life saw a dramatic decline with her body’s ability to function.  We used the services of The Perth Veterinary Clinic on Sunset Blvd.  Dr. Matthew Boylan helped us with Sydney’s passing in a most respectful and caring manner.  He addressed her directly and let her know what the procedure would be.  She purred the entire time, as if giving consent.  All aspects of her process where dignified…..fitting her personality.  We then used the services of Hilton’s Unforgettable Tails, Pet Memorial Services in Smith Falls.  It uses a green cremation process.  The respect and dignity given to her by Dale and his Aunt brought such comfort to us.  We are most grateful for the care given to Sydney at her time of transition.  Thank you to Dr. Matthew Boylan www.perthvet.ca and Hilton’s Unforgettable Tails  www.hiltonsunforgettabletails.ca
